This assessment covers portions of the PsycINFO on Ovid Platform. The assessment revealed moderate problems with screen reader compatibility, resulting in screen reader users rarely missing critical information needed to understand content and operate features.
Top 3 Issues:
- Contrast – Some text is slightly low in contrast, which would potentially cause low vision users to either miss or have difficulty to perceive the affected content. Also, the focus indicator throughout the entire site frequently does not offer sufficient contrast to be clearly visible to low-vision users.
- Reflow – The entire website does not properly reflow to a viewport that is 320px wide.
- Programmatic Labels – The ‘search history’ function makes use of checkboxes without labels. This causes AT users to not be aware as to the purpose of these checkboxes.
